What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is derived from two roots: Ayu meaning life and Veda meaning knowledge.  It is an inclusive healing modality that teaches us how to live in harmony with nature, with ourselves and with those around us. Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science (dating back almost 5000 years). The profound transformational practices are still being used today because they work, irrespective of culture or belief system.

Ayurveda Transformational Course

Some of the key benefits you will gain in the course:  

  • You will develop a deeper understanding of your own constitution. Just as unique as your fingerprints, we all have our energy pattern that is comprised mental, physical, and emotional characteristics. When you become aware of your own natural constitution, you will become enlightened on how to live a harmony with nature, with others and with yourself. 
  • You will learn how to identify imbalances in the body and how to effectively bring balance to all aspects of your life (exercise, diet, thoughts, sleep, surroundings, etc.)  
  • You will learn what creates "dis-ease" in the body and the techniques you can use to stay healthy.   
  • You will learn easy to implement self care techniques that can increase your vitality and immunity and slow down the aging process.
  •  You will learn therapeutic yoga poses and breathing techniques that will improve your sleep and increase the flexibility and strength of your body and mind.

Duration: Six 120 minute classes.  60 minute lecture style + 60 minute Ayurvedic yoga session tailored for the season and time of day.

Discover the Doshas Course

Unable to commit to 6 weeks? No problem! Loam Yoga is offering a condensed workshop class entitled "Discover the Dosha". Your energetic vibration is as unique to you as your own finger print. In Ayurveda this is known as your Dosha. Learning your own dosha is an amazing and enlightening tool. Once you know your own Dosha you will gain an understanding of why you have certain emotional, mental, and physical tendencies. 

In this workshop we will focus on learning your unique dosha constitution. We will also introduce the ancient healing techniques of Ayurveda. In these two sessions you will become enlightened on your natural tendencies and you will learn techniques to bring balance and harmony into your life. 

Once you know your Dosha, you will maximize the benefits of your yoga practice by attending the Dosha specific workshops offered seasonally at Loam Yoga.

Dosha

Dates: This course will be run approximately once a season. Check the schedule online. Pre-registration is required. 

Duration: Two 120 minute classes. First 1 hour is lecture style / discussion to review your dosha / energetic constitution + 55 minute Ayurveda yoga session.

Ayurveda 4 Week Seasonal Dosha Balancing Course

In this yoga class series, sequences will be uniquely designed to bring balance into your physical and energetic body. Doshas are seasonal specific as well as individual. Each season, Loam Yoga will run a dosha balancing course specific to the season.  

Dates: This course will be run approximately once a season. Check the schedule online. Pre-registration is required. 

Duration: Four  90 minute classes.  75 minute Ayurveda yoga session tailored for the season and time of day. 15 minute lecture/discussion with self care tips for your specific dosha and season. 

Price: $60 (just $15 p/class!)

Ayurveda Private Yoga & Self Care Program  

A truly customized ayurvedic yoga program designed specifically for your unique needs. You will have the benefit of individual 1-to-1 attention to ensure the program meets your goals and needs. In these sessions, the Ayurvedic Yoga program will address your energetic dosha, as well as any customizations required to meet your physical needs/goals. 

Included in this program is a dosha constitution assessment, four 75 minute yoga classes, 15 minutes of self care tips & a 30 minute sound recording yoga class that you can use to practice with on your own. 

Dates: Customized to fit your schedule. Classes do not need to occur every week, but should occur within a reasonable timeframe of each other to maximize the benefits of the program. 

Duration: four 90 minute classes. 75 minutes Ayurvedic yoga class, with unique pranayama (breath work) and meditation for your dosha + 15 minutes for self care tips (diet, daily rituals, lifestyles considerations).

A truly customized ayurvedic yoga class designed specifically for your dosha.  

Included is a dosha constitution assessment,  a 75 minute ayurveda yoga class + written class plan.
